Time Warner Cable and CBS
Time Warner not only has stopped broadcasting CBS on their cable channels but it now has blocked access to CBS on the internet. Btw, you can connect to CBS, but you cannot stream anything. This gatekeeper controls anything it wants to despite their own customers. We do not have freedom on the internet when a company (The great almighty Time Warner) blocks who we can or cannot connect, stream, or surf. We talk about North Korea in their blocking anything outside of their country as being wrong, but when Time Warner does it to their own customers who are paying their wages, apparently that is not wrong. It is time to rise up and not support these gatekeepers. Can we sue them, possibly, can we politically add pressure, not very likely due to deep pockets, so what can we do?
CBS is advertising that Time Warner customers need to call Time Warner to bring pressure to bear. It is the customer who both company's have put in the middle and it is the customers who are losing. Welcome to The Machine! If you remember CBS and the CNET debacle on the damage to journalistic integrity and the fallout from Hoppergate at the Consumer Electronics Association. It showed us that CBS does not care and the ends justify the means are CBS's modus operandi.
So since we are caught in the middle, maybe pulling the plug on Time Warner and CBS is a good cause of action. Our freedoms have and are eroding away. This erosion needs to come to an end, otherwise it goes down hill on a steeper incline from here. When it reaches the bottom it will be to late.
